EMOTIONAL INVESTMENT 2020

By Shaveta Nayyar Dham

As the new year is approaching, we are ready with all our resolutions, plans and investments for the coming year. But just pause for a moment and think what if, this new year your emotional investment would be the most happening thing required to organize various aspects of your life.

Emotional investment sounds too good to be true and too difficult to be implemented. To start with, we do not have time, we are running to work, our holidays are planned and there is much to do. So, when we talk of relationships in any form, we are only half present making it work. A part of our system is so busy in the daily routine that it completely ignores the emotional aspect which is the foundation of any relationship.

Work, health, relationships, etc are all a part of your system- the system you carry deep within you. This system encompasses various emotional flows that keep happening and are the root cause of whatever is there in your life.

When your emotional health is good, all things will lead you to the right path. Today, one of the most treasured and important things your children need from you is your emotional investment. It’s time to interact with them, it’s time to listen and understand their feelings, it’s time to feel one with them.

Not only children, we ourselves as adults are mostly emotionally imbalanced. Sometimes, we feel that we are not completely tuned to the cosmos or the very existence of nature. We come across many experiences in life that define our emotional energy which is not the same throughout. At times, we are emotionally strong and at other times, we are emotionally weak.

To be able to be emotionally intelligent, one must first understand oneself in totality creating positive vibrations that attract good in this universal law of nature. In 2020, thus let us make a fresh start. First let us understand that investment not only relates to money but is connected to ‘’self”. So, somethings which I am going to do in 2020 are-

  • Emotionally invest in my child. Understand, listen and communicate will be a part of being one with my child. Sometimes just doing nothing, unlearning, unwinding will be a good idea .
  • Emotionally invest in “self’. Spend time in connecting to myself and understanding the true “me”. One should not feel disgusted at knowing true feelings or emotions. Rather acknowledge, accept and then manage the emotions in the most positive way.
  • Do not try to prove right or wrong. Let it be as it is, things will take their own shape with time
    d) Let go when you think it is necessary and move on
  • Emotionally invest in people close to you, that is the only thing they need more than the gifts and presents….

Let 2020 be the year of a new “YOU”. This can only happen when you emotionally charge yourself in the right way, so start investing now…
